What are the responsibilities and job description for the Phlebotomist/Lab Assistant position at Indian Health Care Resource Center?
We are seeking a dedicated Phlebotomist/Lab Assistant to join our growing team! The Phlebotomist is responsible for efficiently and accurately performing blood draws and transfusions on blood donors and patients.
Responsibilities:
- Correctly identifies patients and properly collects appropriate amounts of blood necessary for specified testing.
- Efficiently operates CLIA waived machines and centrifuges. Runs QC as needed.
- Collects and receives blood, tissue, urine and other bodily fluids from patients safely and accurately.
- Capable of performing venipuncture on all patients from geriatric to pediatric, regardless of difficulty.
- Performs clerical duties required to process orders and obtain results.
- Stays up to date with knowledge on new lab processes and collection changes.
Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of an accredited Phlebotomy program.
- 2 years experience with blood draws on all age ranges.
- Intermediate computer skills. Familiarity with electronic health record programs.
- Organized and detail oriented.
- BLS CPR certification preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
