ELECTRICIAN - FACILITIES MANAGEMENT:
Performs skilled electrical work installing, maintaining and repairing electric wiring and related apparatus and equipment in County Facilities. This is a skilled, journeyman position, working independently under the general direction of the immediate supervisor. Employee in this position will be considered essential and required to work during hurricanes and other natural disasters.
- Installs and repairs electrical equipment ranging from 24 volts to 480 volts.
- Knows and understands the plant process in order to repair, maintain, all county buildings.
- Tests, repairs, troubleshoots, and maintains all electrical equipment.
- Orders parts and picks up material from suppliers.
- Repairs electrical breakdowns.
- Troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains parking lot and building lighting systems.
- Be able to read blueprints and complete renovation projects.
- Installs, maintain, repairs, electrical panels and circuit breakers.
- Maintains and does monthly tests on all stationery and portable generators.
- Performs other job-related functions as required.
Education and Experience:
Associated degree, technical training or an equivalent combination of formal education and at least 4 years of hands-on working experience working in the electrical trade.
Licenses, Certifications or Registrations:
Must possess a valid Class E Driver’s License.
Must possess or obtain within one year of employment, a journeyman license.
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills:
Knowledge of electrical equipment used in County facilities.
Knowledge of electrical repair principles and practices.
Ability to perform electrical repair on all types of equipment within the County.
Ability to understand how electrical components work and knowledge of electrical codes.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
Works inside and occasionally outside under various conditions.
