TRADESWORKER I - FACILITIES MANAGEMENT:
Working under the general supervision of the immediate supervisor, performs various maintenance and construction work in labor trades or activities. Must also be knowledgeable of building systems such as fire alarms and suppression systems.
- Work with hand tools and power tools to perform various maintenance duties.
- Duties may include lawn maintenance if needed.
- Move and assemble furniture.
- Working nights and weekends may be required due to workloads.
- Must be able to work with other employees and maintain a positive work attitude.
- This is an essential position, and an employee will be required to work during and after hurricanes and other disasters if needed.
Education:
High school graduate or GED and 4 years of working experience, or an equivalent combination of formal education and working experience.
Licenses, Certifications or Registrations:
- Must possess a valid Florida Driver’s License.
- Prefer license for a skilled trade but not needed to qualify for position.
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills:
Knowledge of the practices, methods, materials, and tools of one or more of the building trades.
Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the trade.
Ability to interpret drawings and plans.
Ability to use and care for tools, equipment, and materials of the trades to which assigned.
Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
Ability to work with little supervision and make logical decisions.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
- Work is performed outside under various types of weather conditions.
