What are the responsibilities and job description for the Range Attendant Temporary Part-Time position at Indian River County Board of County Commissioners?
- Provides exceptional customer service to guests
- Inspects property and equipment crucial to range operations
- Assists guests with appropriate lane and target orientation
- Acts as a range safety officer providing supervision and ensuring safe operation of the ranges at all times
- Perform light maintenance and housekeeping duties as required
- Assist with clay targets and machines
- Pulls clay targets for guests on all shotgun venues, as needed
- Provide meal/break relief as needed
- Bring golf carts from cart shelter to staging area and returns carts at end of day.
- Ensures golf carts are clean, operating properly and serviced as required.
- Maintains a variety of range equipment in order to ensure a safe environment for range usage, minimize down time/repair and replacement costs.
Education/Experience:
High School Diploma / GED and experience in the care and use of firearms, or an equivalent combination of formal education and related working experience.
Licenses, Certifications or Registrations:
- None
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills:
Knowledge of the operational safety and maintenance requirements of typical hand and shoulder firearms, trap, skeet, and sporting clays.
Knowledge of the standard rules and regulations relating to the use of firearms and the operation of a firearms range.
Ability to enforce range rules and regulations firmly and tactfully.
Ability to provide guidance to individuals and groups in the safe, proper care and use of firearms.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the general public and staff.
Ability to receive cash and make change with accuracy and speed.
Ability to maintain simple cash and sales records and prepare reports.
Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
Ability to communicate, both orally and in writing.
Ability to operate golf carts, range tractor and utility vehicles.
Ability to fill clay machines.
Ability to perform routine preventative maintenance on golf carts such as charging, checking for damage, and washing.
Skill in the use and care of firearms, trap, skeet, archery, and air guns.
