Senior Planner: $71,705.92 - $114,729 Annually
Planner: $65,039 - $104,062 Annually
This is a professional planning position involving MPO related planning activities. Duties include long range transportation planning, transit planning, bicycle/pedestrian planning, capital improvements programming, travel and transit demand analysis, and GIS analysis (ArcMap). Responsibilities include staffing MPO committees and assisting with the preparation of MPO budgets and work programs. This position also involves professional/technical research activities, report preparation, and public involvement activities.
- Develops and updates MPO and County transportation plans, programs, and reports.
- Develops and presents meeting agendas, agenda packages, staff reports, and correspondences.
- Applies for federal and state transportation grants and processes grant invoices.
- Reviews and coordinates with modal transportation partners and interest groups.
- Collects and analyzes transportation and socio-economic data.
Education/Experience:
Senior Planner: Master’s degree in planning or a closely related field from an accredited university supplemented with two years of professional planning experience; or bachelor’s degree in planning or related field, and a minimum of 5 years of direct experience.
Planner: Bachelor’s degree in planning or a closely related field from an accredited university and a minimum of 2 years of professional planning experience.
Licenses, Certifications, or Registrations:
- AICP Preferred
- Valid Florida Driver’s License
Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills:
Knowledge of transportation and urban planning principles.
Knowledge of federal and state transportation planning laws, rules, regulations, and programs.
Knowledge of various financial, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and office productivity computer programs.
Ability to analyze data.
Ability to budget and manage projects.
Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing.
Analytical skills required, along with computer skills, communication skills (oral and written), and interpersonal skills.
