Payroll Administrative Assistant II (formerly Financial Secretary)
LOCATION: Indian River Educational Complex/Business Office
REPORTS TO: Director of Business & Finance and Supervisor of Business & Finance
Minimum Qualifications:
- Three years of any combination of secretarial/administrative support experience with aspects of accounting, payroll and bookkeeping duties.
- Technical experience in the areas of FSF and PHRST, preferred.
- Completion of the Delaware approved PHRST/FSF training or appropriate substitute within 90 days of employment.
- Proficiency in written and interpersonal communications.
- Ability to coordinate workload to meet changing priorities and schedules.
- Must be willing to work occasional holidays or alternate hours to meet Payroll deadlines.
- Proficient computer skills including experience with a variety of software programs to include Microsoft Word, Excel, Quicken, Access or other district approved programs.
Primary Functions:
Applicants must demonstrate proficiency and experience in the following:
- Perform work accurately, timely, in an organized manner, and in compliance with state and district policies and procedures.
- Work on deadline driven situations as a team player.
- Adhere to current payroll/accounting/finance laws and regulations.
- Communicate professionally and effectively with both internal and external parties.
- Adhere to all district policies and practices, following all developed internal controls.
- Cross train in all aspects of Payroll in order to serve as a back-up in the event of an extended absence of a team member.
- Other duties as assigned.
