JOB SUMMARY:
Under minimal supervision, this position is responsible for managing and maintaining the Learning Management System (LMS) to ensure seamless operation and support for college administrators, faculty, and staff. Key responsibilities include overseeing system functionality, managing user roles, troubleshooting technical issues, and ensuring efficient storage and system updates. Fulfills analytics requests and publishes information to the LMS.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee system functionality by managing all user roles, courses, and third-party software integrations.
- Administer daily operations of the learning management system (LMS).
- Identify, analyze, and resolve technical errors in the system.
- Communicate with LMS Management Managed Hosting administrators and Student Information System administrators.
- Manage system storage requirements and maintain efficient storage levels on the LMS.
- Stay up to date on current technology related to the LMS software and systems. Monitor and implement system updates and upgrades.
- Troubleshoot technical issues with faculty and staff inside the LMS.
- Promptly resolve known technical issues.
- Communicate technical matters to end-users.
- Fulfill analytics requests related to the LMS.
- Publish college-wide information to the LMS.
- Complete other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical field.
- OR five (5) years’ work-related experience in a technical field.
- Knowledge of CMS.
- Strong background of reading and writing queries using the SQL language.
- Strong experience in programming languages such as Node JS and Python.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Database Administration.
- Ability to navigate through database systems such as Microsoft SQL, PL-SQL, T-SQL, No-SQL.
- Knowledge of role management policies within Student Information Systems.
- Knowledge of user and course data within Student Information Systems.
- Ability to work directly with college administrators, faculty, and staff on a regular basis is essential.
- Ability to communicate with a diverse group of stakeholders, individuals in person, via telephone, and via email; adapt to shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment and stay current with LMS technologies.
- Flexibility to shift focus in a fast-paced environment with continually changing priorities.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
This position requires an ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, lift, reach up, stoop, and carry items occasionally in excess of twenty-five (25) pounds. It also requires manual dexterity to operate standard office machines, such as, copier, fax, calculator, telephone, and other equipment as necessary. IRSC expects its employees to follow proper safety standards while employed by the College.
