Position Summary:
The Facilities Manager is responsible for the overall day to day operation of the Resort facilities and grounds ensuring a well maintained and safe property
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
Maintenance/Operations
- Develop schedules for preventative maintenance for current and anticipated property needs.
- Assign and verify completion of all work orders, routine room maintenance, repairs, landscape projects/ maintenance. Prioritize repairs and provide direction to staff.
- Assist with maintaining a well-defined and organized system for inventory, maintenance and storage of all tools, equipment and vehicles.
- Work with the Facilities Director to establish an appropriate supply of materials and equipment to operate and maintain the facilities and property.
- Work closely with Directors/Managers to ensure all scheduled maintenance is scheduled and completed.
- Supervise all contracted services including pest control, landscape services, etc.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulations, and assist with utility management of the property.
- Monitor the issuance of keys establishing key and access control for the property. Update key system as required/needed.
- Under the direction of the Facilities Director, train and implement work processes and procedures which are safe and in compliance.
- Ensure proper usage of chemicals by monitoring and providing training. Maintain the Safety Data Sheets for the Facilities Department. Comply with all OSHA requirements.
- Report to the property in the case of emergencies which may include power failures, fire, earthquake or other disasters.
Projects
- Work with the Facilities Director on planning, executing and supervising maintenance projects.
- Oversee and coordinate the scheduling and progress of projects.
Management Duties
· Assist in the hiring, management, motivation, schedule and discipline all maintenance staff. Provide feedback on performance and evaluate each staff member.
· Review, revise and approve daily payroll as needed.
· Attend all management meetings.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of general maintenance methods, operating requirements and safety precautions related to facilities management.
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
- Preferred- Bachelors’ degree in Construction or related subject. Minimum two years of experience in management of a similar operation in a resort or hotel.
- Ability to properly train all staff in the safe operation of equipment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent project management and planning skills
