IAF is one of 15 US manufacturers that can train and offer opportunities in multiple production processes. All of our processes are under one roof, including Cold-Forming (Machine Operator), Thread Rolling (Machine Operator), Electroplating, Geomet, (Barrel Zinc and Dip Spin), Annealing (Manual Machine—loader & Unloader)—heat Treatment Process, and Material Movement (Material Handler) to our Shipping Team.

A Day in the life of an IAF Team Member?

As a Machine Loader & Unloader, you will operate 3 machines to our safety, quality, and production standards. In this position, you will load raw material / fasteners into the machine, understand how the process works, keeping up with the cycle times of the machine. Once the cycle is complete then the parts / fasteners must be unloaded manually and down-stacking containers on the cart to get moved to the next process within the process. These areas deal with different types of chemicals such as caustic, zinc, geomat, so there are different smells depending on what area you are in.

You would Thrive in this position if : You have a willingness to learn something new. Or if you already have experience with manual machine loading and unloading which is 3 or more machines at a time. Have ever worked around chemicals? Ever worked keeping up on cycle times depending on what machine you are on? The ability to keep up with possibly 3 different machines, loading the raw material into the machine, taking lids off and on the barrels to cycle through the machines, coating or plating the parts.

  • Training on 1st 6 : 30am-3 : 00pm 4 to 6 weeks in our Global Training Center, where we train you basic knowledge of the machine, and how to change the machine over, then move to 3rd 10 : 30pm to 7am. 6 to 12 weeks on the floor with a floor trainer on the shift assigned to.

Qualification / Requirement

  • Six months of related experience and or training, one- year certificate from a college or technical school, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Machine aptitude (preferred)
  • Troubleshooting experience (preferred)
  • Good communication
  • Organization and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work as a team
  • Ability to lift container up to 25lbs (repetitively) to 100lbs (occasionally)
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, use of hands, walk, bend, and or twist
  • Ability to work 12 hours (including Saturdays and Sundays

    LANGUAGE SKILLS

    Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

    Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

    REASONING ABILITY

    Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

The Team Member must occasionally lift and / or move up to 100 pounds. The Team Member must be able to lift a container of fasteners weighing up to 25 pounds on a regular basis. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is frequently required to sit; to use their hands to finger, handle, or feel; and to talk or hear.
