Position Title: Event Operations Manager
We are looking for a manager with strong leadership, coaching & management skills. This person wouldn’t necessarily need event experience, just to be trainable & open to learning a new field.
Position Summary:
The Event Operations Manager directs the overall operation of the Setup Department and the Installation & Dismantling (I&D) Department. This position generally supervises all employees in these departments at both the Indiana Convention Center and Lucas Oil Stadium. Accountability is to the Event Services Director.
Position Responsibilities:
Management Skills:
- Assessing supervisors & managers, coaching accordingly for improvement.
- Reviewing departmental practices & adjusting to ensure communication & training is at the forefront.
- Coaching managers with potential to ascend to the next level.
- Being a positive leader, coaching & training with all staff.
Technical Skills:
- Responsible for setting and advising on all policies and procedures, future goals, and direction of the Setup and I&D Departments.
- Anticipate solutions for challenges of the Setup and I&D Departments as it relates to upcoming events in the short term and long term.
- Set the annual budget of the Setup and I&D Departments for labor and equipment.
- Resource of information to advise the Event Management Department and Sales Department on various event needs and timelines for estimates of labor, equipment, and booking of space.
- Work closely with other department heads to maintain communication and logistics for upcoming events and building maintenance.
- Represent the CIB in matters related to the Teamsters collective bargaining agreement.
- Make recommendations related to hiring, firing or other changes in employee status.
- Other duties as assigned by Event Services Director.
