The Indiana Hand to Shoulder Center provides comprehensive care for patients with hand, wrist, elbow and shoulder medical conditions and injuries. There are 12 highly-skilled and well-recognized hand surgeons in the practice and 22 highly-skilled hand therapists.
We focus on a team approach to patient care. The surgeons, nurses, physician assistants, nurse practitioners and therapists work closely together to manage the needs of each patient. The mission of therapy is to provide the highest quality of patient care that is cost-effective and time-limited. Our practice continues to grow with new hand surgeons and office locations.
We are searching for a full-time medical receptionist - prior authorization representative in our therapy department at our main office location, which is located beside the St. Vincent’s hospital main campus in Indianapolis. The position is ideal for a highly motivated, professional, and efficient prior authorization representative and medical receptionist. This individual will work closely with a small team of front office professionals as well as hand therapists in a busy clinic environment. It is essential to be a great team player!
The most qualified for this position possesses the following attributes:
- Knowledgeable in front office operations (i.e. greeting patients upon arrival, registering patients for appointments, accepting co-pays).
- Knowledgeable in insurance (i.e. familiar with various types of insurance plans, familiar with checking insurance benefits, pre-authorizing therapy services, documenting benefits, explaining benefits to patients).
- Positive communication and interactions with patients (i.e. friendly, approachable, strong communication skills, professional, confidential).
- Familiar with electronic practice management software (i.e. medical records, patient management systems, scheduling systems). Familiarity with SRS and/or Allscripts ideal.
- Enjoys a team spirited work environment!
- Strongly prefer applicant with past experience working in a medical practice and can efficiently learn new software programs.
Schedule:
8:30 AM - 5:30 PM Monday - Friday
