What are the responsibilities and job description for the Employee Development Specialist position at Indiana Members Credit Union?

 

Summary/objective 

To train the basic functionality of an employee’s position.   Provide instruction, feedback, guidance and practice to become efficient employees while also enforcing credit union policies and procedures. 

 

Essential functions

  • Mentor and coach all staff through positive reinforcement
  • Conduct in-class and remote training and all administrative support for this function
  • Observe practice of teller fundamentals at branch locations
  • Complete evaluations to assess performance, improvement, impact of training, and development plans
  • Monitor teller variations and maintain documentation 
  • Assist department supervisor in development and implementation of new training
  • Provide branch staff support through monitoring and coaching at branch locations
  • Provide branch support by answering questions and resolving problems
  • Review, maintain, and create enhancements for existing policies, procedures, and training materials
  • Keep training area stocked with supplies, clean, and orderly
  • Test any enhancements to the operating systems
  • Cover for branches when necessary

  • Well organized and detail-oriented
  • Proficient Computer Skills (core and ancillary systems, Microsoft Office)

Physical demands

  • Standing – ability to remain in an upright position on the feet.
  • Walking – ability to go on foot at a moderate pace.
  • Sitting – ability to rest oneself upon the buttocks, as on a chair or stool.
  • Carrying – ability to hold or support an object and to transport from one location to another.
  • Handling - ability to touch, feel, lift, operate and control equipment, materials, tools and objects with the hands. 
  • Seeing – ability to have power of sight.
  • Hearing – ability to be aware of sounds by the ear.
  • Speaking – ability to convey detailed spoken instructions or impact oral information to others.

Travel required

  • Moderate travel to branch locations 
  • Additional travel to training locations may be required 

Required education and experience

  • 12-18 months credit union/banking experience
  • High School diploma or equivalent

 

Preferred education and experience

  • Corporate training experience
