What are the responsibilities and job description for the Solar Technician position at Indiana Municipal Power Agency?
The Indiana Municipal Power Agency is a not-for-profit, wholesale electric generation and transmission company located in Carmel, Indiana. At IMPA, we support 61 communities in Indiana and Ohio through providing low-cost, reliable, and environmentally responsible electricity, as well as a variety of other services to help in the overall success of each town or city.
Our solar team is seeking a safety-oriented individual to assist with maintaining and operating our solar parks to achieve the highest levels of reliability and performance. This is a full-time position.
What You’ll Bring to the Table :
- An Associate degree in engineering, electronics, or a related field of study. Equivalent experience may also be considered.
- Competency in the use of electrical test equipment and hand tools.
- Previous experience or an interest in learning about industrial control systems, electrical systems, computer network protocols and hardware.
- An understanding of electrical and mechanical drawings.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to travel in a company vehicle to our solar facilities, primarily within the state of Indiana and periodically overnight.
