What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sports Performance Coordinator-Part Time position at Indiana Physical Therapy?
POSITION SUMMARY:
PART TIME- SPORTS PERFORMANCE
Serving 2 locations- Carroll Road & Bluffton Road.
Provide sport performance services to area clients in the Indiana Physical Therapy market area. Adhere to the policies, procedures, and operating protocols relevant to this position.
SUPERVISION: Reports to: Indiana Physical Therapy Sport Performance
Director, and VP of External Services.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Perform the duties and responsibilities of an IPT Sport Performance Coordinator.
2. Create schedules for assigned clinics and provide schedule information of all sport performance clients to Sport Performance Director.
3. Set up, record, and track all Sport Performance recorders/documentation. Sport Performance Coordinator will record all clients on the IPT record and enter the data into the Access Database.
4. Facilitate referral of injured athletes to appropriate Indiana Physical Therapy clinic(s), and report referral to the supervising PT/ATC.
5. Track any injuries referred to a physician, follow up on those athletes who receive surgery and/or are directed to physical therapy to ensure referral to the appropriate Indiana Physical Therapy clinic location.
6. Cover, as assigned, IPT events, i.e. health fairs, educational or marketing sessions.
QUALITY ASSURANCE:
A. Adhere to Quality Customer Service with regard to all services and products provided to patients, referral sources, employees and others by Indiana Physical Therapy.
B. Adhere to the objectives, philosophies, and protocols of Indiana Physical Therapy.
PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT:
1. Identify areas for personal improvement and/or enhancement of professional capabilities.
2. Maintain awareness of educational and/or in-servicing programs for continual updating and upgrading of personal skills.
WORK SCHEDULE:
1. The Sport Performance Coordinator will be working on a 12 month calendar.
2. This coordinator postiion will need to maintain at least a 20-25 hour work week. These hours will be at the assigned clinic/school or a combination of clinic and school assignments.
3. PTO for the coordinator will be accrued per the IPT PTO policy. Each coordinator will be allow to use their PTO at their discretion, as long as they receive approval from their supervisor
4. The coordinator’s schedule is subject to change, and is always dependent upon the needs of clients.
TRAVEL:
1. Coordinators are required to their assigned clinic(s).
2. Travel between assignments is considered work hours and mileage will be reimbursed. Personal errands, meal time, breaks or travel to and from the athletic trainer’s home and assignment are not considered work hours and mileage will not be reimbursed.
WORK CONDITIONS:
1. Requires the ability to move about, including walking, sitting, and standing. Must demonstrate and perform multiple examples of athletic contact to fulfill activities.
2. Requires basic skills needed to use training/sports standard equipment.
3. Requires assignment to both outdoor and indoor school environment.
4. Requires ability to work independently.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. College graduate.
2. Must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
3. Must have basic computer skills, preferably knowledge of Microsoft Office, or similar software products.
4. Must have the ability to establish and foster effective working relationships.
5. Must be able to work legally in the United States.
