Position Description
Position: Maternal and Child Health Coordinator
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Work Hours: Full-time
Reports to: Quality Improvement and Population Health Director
Salary Range: $25-29 per hour
Time Frame: Position is grant-funded through June 2026.
SUMMARY
The Maternal and Child Health Coordinator works collaboratively as part of the Indiana Primary Health Care Association (IPHCA) staff and community health centers to support initiatives that improve maternal and child health outcomes. This position will assist health centers in implementing evidence-based practices, optimizing maternal health programs, and addressing disparities in perinatal and pediatric care. The coordinator will support the Indiana Primary Health Care Association and the Indiana Quality Improvement Network (IQIN) and assist in policy advocacy, technical assistance, and program development to enhance statewide maternal and child health services.
This position is grant-funded until June 30, 2026, and may have the opportunity to extend depending on future funding.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Provide guidance and technical assistance to health centers to improve maternal and child health services.
· Identify and promote best prenatal, perinatal, postpartum, and pediatric care practices.
· Support health centers in integrating maternal and child health programs into clinical workflows.
· Develop and disseminate educational materials on maternal about various child health topics to health center staff and patients.
· Assist in data collection, analysis, and reporting to assess program effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
· Identify barriers to care and provide resources to address disparities in maternal and child health outcomes.
· Collaborate with state and local partners to enhance maternal health initiatives, including home visiting programs, breastfeeding support, and perinatal mental health resources.
· Facilitate training sessions and workshops for health center staff on maternal and child health topics, quality improvement, and culturally competent care.
· Monitor federal and state policy changes related to maternal and child health and provide updates to IPHCA members.
· Develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including public health agencies, community-based organizations, and advocacy groups.
· Assist in grant writing and resource development to support maternal and child health initiatives.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
· Collaborate with other IPHCA staff to support cross-functional initiatives related to quality improvement, health equity, and population health.
· Represent IPHCA in maternal and child health-related coalitions, task forces, and workgroups.
· Maintain communication with health center staff, providing ongoing support and responding to maternal and child health programming inquiries.
· Contribute to strategic planning efforts to enhance maternal and child health services within Indiana’s community health centers.
· Update and maintain CRM information and records regularly.
· Support the Clinically Integrated Network (CINI) as needed.
· Perform other duties as assigned.

· Commitment to health equity and addressing disparities in maternal and child health.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) and ability to learn new health-related software.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
· Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Nursing, Social Work, Health Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
· Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in maternal and child health, public health, or a healthcare-related field.
· Experience working in a community health center or a public health setting is preferred.
· Knowledge of Medicaid, WIC, Title V, and other maternal and child health-related programs.
· Experience with program development, implementation, and evaluation in a healthcare or public health setting.
SPECIAL LICENSES OR TRANSPORTATION DEMANDS
· Travel within Indiana is required to support health center programs and attend meetings.
· If operating a vehicle, a valid Indiana driver’s license and proof of insurance are required.
REQUIREMENTS
· Ability to use a computer for word processing, data management, and communication.
· Ability to communicate verbally and in writing, with fluency in English required.
· Ability to travel by car or plane as needed.

Pay: $25.00 - $29.00 per hour
