Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled CMM Operator/Programmer to join our quality assurance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing precise measurements and inspections of components using Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM). This role is crucial in ensuring that all products meet the required specifications and quality standards. The CMM Operator/Programmer will work closely with the engineering and production teams to maintain high-quality output.
Responsibilities
- Operate and program Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) to perform dimensional inspections of parts.
- Conduct quality assurance checks using various measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and other precision instruments.
- Utilize software such as Calypso and GearPro for data collection and analysis.
- Interpret engineering drawings and specifications to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Document inspection results and maintain accurate records of measurements and findings.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to troubleshoot issues related to machining processes or measurement discrepancies.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance inspection processes and product quality.
Requirements
- Proficiency in operating CMM equipment with a strong understanding of quality inspection techniques.
- Experience with CAD software for interpreting technical drawings is preferred.
- Familiarity with measurement tools including micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and other precision measuring devices.
- Knowledge of quality assurance principles and practices related to dimensional inspection.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Previous experience in machining or manufacturing settings is advantageous.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams.
