Job Summary
We are seeking a Communications leader to craft compelling copy that advances the story of the Office of Student Life. This role produces high-quality content for diverse platforms, supporting Student Life's marketing and communications while aligning with Indiana University's branding.
Department-Specific Responsibilities
- Leads strategic, intentional, and comprehensive communications planning and implementation efforts for the Office of Student Life and its departments, determining when and where communications take place to most effectively reach target audiences.
- Works with other members of the communication and marketing team to ensure communications connect with what others create (designs, social media, photography, video, etc.) to implement the very best work that meets Student Life's goals.
- Leads a full-time Communication Specialist who supports Student Life's communications efforts.
- Leads writer and editor of copy for campaigns, websites, emails, printed pieces, social media captions, and more.
- Sends and manages several email journey projects consisting of a mix of recurring and one-off emails via SalesForce / Marketing Cloud.
- Writes and edits longer form blog posts and articles, interviewing subjects when necessary.
- Connects with University-level communications team to collaborate, amplify, and advance our communications.
- Produces monthly, quarterly, and annual communications reports.

This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. 65,00-75,000 annually, based on education and experience.
