Job Summary
We are seeking a marketing leader to oversee social media strategies and visual storytelling for key accounts within the Office of Student Life at IU Bloomington. This role serves as a primary communicator, using creative content across platforms to highlight services, events, and initiatives from Student Life's 27 departments.
Department-Specific Responsibilities
- Strategizes, plans, posts, and assesses various posts and videos across several social media platforms based on project requests, each account's offerings and features, and other relevant information based on the cycle of the school year.
- Works with other members of the team to ensure communications connect with what others create (designs, communications, photography, video, etc.) to implement the very best work that meets Student Life's goals.
- Leads a full-time Photographer who also supports Student Life's communications efforts.
- Leads a small team of student social media coordinators who help advance our social media efforts.
- Determines the frequency and post type for each campaign and social media initiative.
- Monitors activity, comments, inboxes, and more to provide timely responses to provide quality customer service from various social media channels.
- Connects with University-level social media team to collaborate, amplify, and advance our social media efforts.
- Responsible for running social media accounts for several departments as well as provides consultation to additional departments
- Produces monthly, quarterly, and annual social media / communications reports.

This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus.
