Job Summary

The primary purpose of this position is to develop new and modify existing curricula for the Indiana Department of Child Services (DCS). The person in this position will interact frequently with DCS leadership and stakeholders in the development and implementation of curricula. This position does not interact with faculty / staff on campus.

Department-Specific Responsibilities

  • Utilize needs assessment data and conduct needs assessments when appropriate
  • Conduct research, develop learning outcomes, write curricula on specialized topics, train staff to use the curricula, evaluate, and finalize all curriculum projects

General Responsibilities

  • In coordination with educational leadership, faculty, and / or staff, designs curriculum for students, courses, degree programs, or schools
  • Consults with faculty to determine curricular needs and identify gaps; creates course objectives and outcomes to reach targeted learning
  • Reviews proposals to modify existing course curriculum and create new courses; ensures accuracy of information and determines whether proposal aligns with standards and objectives for the course
  • Assists with preparation and dissemination of course materials, such as course syllabi, textbook selection, course packs, and other related materials
  • Performs evaluation and assessment activities, ensuring consistency across purview, including observation of courses, preparation of course evaluation results, development of reports and outcomes for accreditation review, and analysis of feedback from faculty regarding curricular outcomes
  • Manages curriculum mapping process
  • May make process recommendations to manager for improved operational efficiency

  • Working Conditions / Demands

    This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.

    Additional Information

    This position is grant funded with expected annual renewals. Renewals are contingent on the availability of grant funds.
