Job Summary
- Conducts comprehensive analysis of genetic variants using Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) data in a clinical laboratory environment.
- Interprets the clinical significance of genetic variants in the context of disease, phenotype, and population genetics in accordance with established ACMG guidelines.
- Manages variant databases and monitors day-to-day operations of the literature searching and triage pipelines and various error-checking processes.
- Drafts clinical lab reports according to internal and professional standards.
- Ensures proper performance of activities related to basic maintenance and operation of the laboratory including creation of laboratory protocols, and participation in quality control / quality assurance activities.
- Drives innovation by developing new methods and improving existing procedures, quality control, and quality assurance monitoring.
- Leads research and development projects as they arise.

The role regularly requires the ability to effectively communicate. The role frequently requires the ability to move about the work environment and to position oneself to operate laboratory equipment effectively. The role requires the ability to move objects weighing up to 25 pounds and will occasionally work near moving mechanical parts. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.
