Job Summary
Hilltop Garden and Nature Center is looking for 2 individuals to serve as Youth Gardening Program Instructors in 2025. The Youth Gardening Program Instructors will be responsible for providing horticulture and environmental science-based activities in a fun and interactive, garden-themed learning environment for youth and families to learn and work together while growing produce in their own garden plot. Educational activities will consist of outdoor garden-based learning.
Department Specific Responsibilities
- Plans and leads program sessions for Hilltop's Family Gardening Program and / or Junior Master Gardener Program.
- Provides a safe learning environment.
- Performs general garden maintenance including seeding, planting, weeding, mulching beds and paths, pruning, harvesting, watering, fertilizing, amending and cultivating the soil, composting, pest management, removing dead plants and debris, and harvesting.
- Assists with organizing and distributing tasks to program volunteers.
- Assists with school field trips and summer camps at Hilltop.
- Assists with Hilltop events and programs.

Additional Information
This position will require availability from March 3,2025 to October 1, 2025, for an average of 15 hours per week, with the possibility of additional hours during the 4 weeks of summer camp. Successful applicants must be available 2 weekday evenings as well as on Saturdays.
