Job Summary
Department-Specific Responsibilities
- Builds strong relationships with benefit vendors, ensuring successful transmission and receipt of vendor files. Helps build new files and interfaces with vendors.
- Partners with the Benefits team on the implementation of new benefit plans or projects related to existing benefit plans. Helps with set-up and testing of system requirements to administer plans, helps project manage the annual open enrollment process and ensures seamless delivery of benefit plan administration.
- Serves on the project team for open enrollment to assist with validation of election data, system modifications, system audits, etc.
- Drives operational excellence in the benefits function by identifying and developing alternative methods for optimizing and streamlining processes and procedures.
- Works with vendors to solve vendor file or technical issues, such as eligibility transfers.
- Supports programs and documentation related to compliance with legal and regulatory requirements in the functional area, including DOL, IRS, Treasury, etc.
- Assists with project management and documentation of HIPAA for the university-sponsored health plans.
- Leads and manages the project for the annual delivery of ACA-required 1095 statements to university-sponsored health plan members.

This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.
Work Location
Bloomington, Indiana - OR - Indianapolis, Indiana
This position is eligible to work a hybrid schedule (mix between remote and in-person work), subject to change in the future based on university policy and business needs.
Advertised Salary
72,000 - $82,000 annually
