Indiana University Health is seeking individuals who embody these values to join our Riley Hospital for Children leadership team in the role of Director of Pharmacy.
The Director of Pharmacy for Riley Hospital for Children is responsible for providing administrative decision-making, leadership and strategic planning including the efficient and productive use of personnel, material and financial resources. The incumbent leads the efficient and purposeful integration of services with other areas and emerging delivery systems.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Managing ongoing analysis, development and implementation of methods and systems to improve overall efficiency and effectiveness of services and functions.
- Formulating proactive action plans in collaboration with system goals.
- Executing plans, with and through others, integrating the efforts of various components/entities of the system.
- Ensuring fiscal responsibility and clinical and operational performance improvement initiatives of the service line.
Key Relationships
Reports to: Chief Medical Officer, Riley Hospital for Children
Direct reports: 8 – 10 direct reports
Key stakeholders: Chief Pharmacy Officer, Operations, Nursing, Providers, Finance/Rev Cycle, and Legal
Candidate Qualifications
Candidates for the position will be selected from a diverse pool and will be evaluated according to the following criteria and competencies.
- Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy and/or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D) degree from an accredited College of Pharmacy, plus at least 3 years of experience in hospital pharmacy practice required. Master of Business Administration (MBA) or Master of Healthcare Administration (MHA) is preferred.
- Must be licensed as a Pharmacist in Indiana or eligible for licensure.
- 7-10 years of relevant experience is required. Progressive leadership and experience in pediatrics is strongly preferred.
- Requires knowledge of the accepted practices, procedures, regulations, and techniques applicable to the practice of Pharmacy.
- Active member of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) and/or American Pharmacist Association (APhA) preferred.
