Job Summary:
The Office of Development and Alumni Relations is seeking a professional with an advanced skill set encompassing event management and alumni relations and supporting fundraising efforts. This person would be responsible for the planning and execution of all development and alumni relation events within the School.
Department-Specific Responsibilities
- Increases engagement and develop a pipeline for philanthropic support for the School of Education.
- Manages Distinguished Alumni Award process, including committee coordination, nomination collection, and all aspects of the awards dinner.
- Plans events including but not limited to Emeriti Reception, Alumni Reconnection Lunch, IU Day, and others
- Coordinates details for 2 Alumni Board meetings and 1 Dean's Advisory Board meeting annually.
- Oversees alumni social media accounts.
- Serves as a liaison with the IU Alumni Association and manages annual grant applications and reporting.
- Engages with alumni and potential donors to build relationships, assess their philanthropic interests and gather relevant information to tailor fundraising strategies.
- Strategically identifies new donor prospects, qualifies their capacity and interest in giving and introduces them to the organization's mission and fundraising priorities.
- Assists with donor recognition practices and programs.
- Provides project management for major gift proposals at the discretion of development officers.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION
Required
- Bachelor's degree In related field
WORK EXPERIENCE
Required
- Some volunteer engagement or related field
- 2 years of program development, volunteer engagement and cultivation, budget administration
SKILLS
Required
- Strong verbal communication and listening skills
- Demonstrated project management skills
- Ability to simultaneously handle multiple priorities
- Ability to build strong customer relationships
- Ability to exercise initiative, work independently and effectively as a team member

Advertised Salary:
This position will be filled at either the Core or Career level, depending on the qualifications of the finalist selected.
Core level: $44,000- $47,000
Career level: $45,000 - $55,000
