Duties and Responsibilities
- Arrange route schedules to meet University demands
- Make pre-trip inspections of vehicle in compliance with state regulations
- Insure the buses are kept clean, orderly and in safe condition
- Report maintenance issues
- Assist in loading and unloading passengers and belongings
- Maintain vehicle, passenger and trip logs in compliance with regulations
- Obey all transportation laws
- Reporting of all accidents
- Complete post-trip inspections
- May be required to work overtime as directed by supervision
Qualifications: According to Indiana Wesleyan University employment policy all employees must possess a strong Christian commitment and adhere to the standards outlined in the IWU Community Lifestyle Statement.
Education
- High School Diploma
- Valid CDL with Class B Requirements
Experience
- Local, state and federal transportation laws
- Safety rules and practices & over the road driving
- Driving in congested areas
- Bus maintenance & record keeping for logs and expense tracking
Required Skills
- Ability to pass DOT mandated requirements
- Ability to obtain CPR/First Aid training and certification
