GENERAL SUMMARY
Responsibilities for the Airport Maintenance Group Leader – Buildings position include the terminal and any IAA owned facilities and the reliever airports. General supervision responsibilities as required. This employee is also responsible to assist the Supervisor as needed and to direct individuals and teams; train personnel; execute paperwork; maintain record keeping; and coach and counsel subordinates. This employee also coordinates activities between internal and external customers as needed and will communicate information gathered.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Inspect, repair, and troubleshoot plumbing system, drinking and wastewater systems, fire protection system, building structure and key and lock systems as required.
- Participate on snow removal teams.
- Execute proper paperwork handling and routing.
- Provide team-building tactics.
- Maintain proper records as required.
- Follow all safety regulations and performance indicators as needed to improve and facilitate a clean atmosphere for working conditions.
- Complete all work in a timely fashion.
- Coordinate work activities with Supervisor.
- Coordinate work efforts with other departments.
- Perform other duties as directed by Supervisor.
- Conduct safety training as needed.
- Follow all Airport regulations.
- Follow IAA rules.
- Follow FAA regulations.
- Assist in planning and design of new construction including all costs and materials.
- Act as temporary supervisor as needed.
- Perform any other function assigned.
- Perform all the essential functions of the job outlined above without creating a direct threat to the safety of oneself, subordinates, or other person(s) in and around the airport.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Graduation from high school, completion of a GED, or vocational school is required. A combination of education and experience that provide the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of this position is preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
- Ability to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class B.
- Ability to perform the physical and cognitive tasks outlined in the job description.
- Three to five (3 – 5) years’ experience in building maintenance industry.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

- Ability to lift up to 100 pounds.
- Ability to climb ladders, stairs, and poles.

- Ability to work on feet or in a standing position in all types of environmental conditions both inside and outside.
