They will also meet the following qualifications and possess these preferred skills
- Bachelor's degree
- Full fluency in Spanish
- 3-5 years of teaching experience strongly preferred
- A valid Teacher License (or interest in a licensure program) strongly preferred
- Competency in using technology in the office or classroom setting
- Ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis
- Strong desire to work within an innovative, urban education program
- Use the state standards and curriculum to create rigorous, objective-driven, arts-infused lessons aligned with curriculum maps.
- Differentiate for individual students based on their unique learning needs
- Develop standards-aligned, measurable, ambitious big goals that will increase student opportunities for achievement; assess and track performance against these goals.
- Implement classroom procedures, systems, and routines that provide structure for students and maximize instructional time.
- Use data to reflect on effectiveness of lessons and student achievement progress in order to improve instruction and personal practice.
- Encourage parent and community involvement, obtain information for parents when requested, conduct home visits, and promptly return phone calls and answer emails.
- Ability and willingness to work collaboratively; maintaining cooperative and effective working relationships.
- Support classroom teachers by conducting small group instruction for English language learners
- Perform intervention instruction as assigned;
- Ensure students are engaged through activities and technology that accommodate various learning styles and personality styles
- Provide many and varied opportunities for students to achieve mastery while working to promote achievement by all students without exception;
- Support classroom teachers' interactions with English language learners' parents, guardians, and families
- Serve as interpreter during in-person meetings
- Serve as interpreter during phone calls
- Provide translations for written communications, including emails and printed forms
- Use feedback from the Principal and Director of Instruction to update the Individual Professional Development Plan
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
