Position: Music Teacher(s) - Choir & Band
Reports to: Principal(s)
Job Description: To work in school and community settings, instructing students in the principles of music and choral skills. Music teacher supervises and assist students. Create a flexible elementary/secondary music program and a class environment favorable to learning and personal growth; to establish effective rapport with pupils; to motivate pupils to develop skills, attitude and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation for elementary/secondary grade education, in accordance with each pupil's ability; to establish good relationships with parents and with other staff members.
Required Qualifications
Must have the ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time; exhibit manual dexterity to dial a telephone, to enter data into a computer terminal; hear and understand speech at normal levels; physical agility to lift up to 50 pounds; to bend, to stoop, to sit on the floor, to climb stairs, to walk and to reach overhead

Required Qualifications
- Bachelors of Arts Degree
- Valid Indiana Teaching Certification
- Assure compliance with all State Department laws and all Board of Education policies and regulations of the Superintendent relating to teaching.
- Instructs pupils in citizenship and basic subject matter specified in state law and administrative regulations and procedures of the school district.
- Develops lesson plans and instructional material and provides individualized and small group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each pupil.
- Translates lesson plans into developmentally appropriate learning experiences.
- Assess and modify instruction for students not mastering state and local standards.
- Determine accommodations and methods of teaching and grading a student's progress.
- Provide consultation to colleagues when needed
- Communicates regularly with parents outside normal classroom day by means of newsletters, notes, phone calls, conferences, etc.
- Established and maintains standards of pupil behavior to achieve an effective learning atmosphere
- Evaluates pupils' academic and social growth, keeps appropriate records and prepares progress reports.
- Identifies pupil needs and makes appropriate referrals and develops strategies for individual education plans.
- Is available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside the instructional day.
- Plans and coordinates music performances at building level.
- Experience in Skyward student management.
- Provides individualized and small group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of the student.
- Creates an environment for learning through functional and attractive displays interest centers and exhibits of student's work.
- Collaborate with teachers serving students with disabilities: co-planning, team teaching
- Share resources for the benefit of each child.
- Performs other related duties, as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the school district.
