This is a 1.0 FTE position as a Special Education Teacher working with preschool-aged children through the GLASS Cooperative. The preferred candidate will have an Indiana Exceptional Needs teaching license covering Pre-K. GLASS serves the Greater Lafayette area just one hour north of downtown Indianapolis and two hours south of downtown Chicago along I -65 in west central Indiana. Lafayette is a growing city with a strong economic base. The Greater Lafayette Area is the home of Purdue University and the presence of the university helps to make Lafayette one of the greatest places to live in the mid-west. Job Description

Teaches preschool students with disabilities communication, functional, and school readiness skills.
Responsibilities
- Teach preschool-aged children who have disabilities who are attending a community preschool program or are homeschooled.
- Provide general education teacher with relevant information regarding students' needs and goals.
- Assist general education staff to differentiate education curriculum to meet individual children's needs.
- Model various teaching methods to promote learning.
- Design and help implement instructional/communication/functional materials.
- Ensure appropriate accommodations including visual supports are available in class.
- Develop an Individualized Education Program (IEP) for each student.
- Provide on-going classroom assessments of individual student's progress and needs
- Complete quarterly progress monitoring reports for each student
- Complete ISPROUT assessment for each student
- Collaborate with speech/language pathologist and any related service provider
- Schedule case conferences including Annual Case Reviews, Re-evaluation Reviews, and IEP Reviews.
- Review the IEP with the student's parents, general education teacher. and administrators.
- Monitor student absences and report to administrator and office staff.
- Co-teaching in integrated learning settings where appropriate.
