Indigo is recruiting an enthusiastic 2nd Line Subsea Cable NOC engineer to join their global network monitoring team in Denver. The role involves reactive and proactive action on alarms as wells as performance analysis and will be a 24x7, 10 hours shift pattern, in 4 days on/3 days off scheme. This position is for the Sun-Wed 10pm-8am shift.

Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and manage the response to alarms prioritizing severity and perform troubleshooting through to remediation or escalation
- Raise, update, and follow up trouble tickets
- Engage Senior Engineers, field services and third parties whenever necessary and coordinate spares replacement and evasive manoeuvres
- Keep the management team up to date regarding critical faults and take part in Route Cause Analysis meetings
- Proactively analyse data from Network Monitoring Tools and determine best course of action to help prevent faults from happening
- Create or update internal documentation regarding actions taken to sort specific case scenarios so that information can be shared among the team
- Respect customer SLAs
Skills/Knowledge/Qualifications
- Experience with network monitoring tools
- Familiar with ticketing systems and tickets workflow
- Ideally a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a NOC environment supporting subsea, enterprise or ISP networks
- OPTICAL EXPERIENCE IS A MUST
- Strong knowledge of routers, switches, and firewalls
- Strong knowledge of transmission equipment
- Any industry certification is desirable (CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, etc)
- Knowledge and experience with optical networks
- Must have outstanding communication and presentation skills
- Ability to build and maintain good working relationships with colleagues and customers
- Be able to deliver excellent customer service
Experience in one or more of the following technologies:
- DWDM experience (exposure to Ciena 6500)
- Knowledge of Alcatel ASN - SN10
- Strong understanding of an AIS system
- Knowledge or experience troubleshooting or managing Subsea Networks (Desirable)
- Cisco (routers, switches, and firewalls)
- HP (routers and switches)
- Office 365
- Salesforce or similar ticketing system
- Ability to work under pressure and achieve tight SLAs
- Attention to detail
- Multitasking and able to prioritise workload
- Desire and motivation to learn and advance skill level across multiple technologies
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written English
