Indigo is looking for enthusiastic individuals to join our Network Operations Center (NOC) team as Entry-Level Subsea Cable NOC Engineers. In this role, you will support the monitoring and maintenance of our global subsea cable network, ensuring its stability by responding to alarms, assisting with troubleshooting, and coordinating with various teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and respond to network alarms, perform initial troubleshooting, and prioritize based on severity.
- Open, update, and resolve trouble tickets within defined workflows.
- Assist senior engineers in coordinating with field services and external vendors for hardware replacements and maintenance.
- Document actions taken during troubleshooting to enhance team knowledge.
- Provide updates to the management team on critical network issues and assist in Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
- Support proactive network performance analysis to identify and mitigate potential faults.
- Ensure adherence to customer Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
Required
Skills & Qualifications:
- Basic familiarity with network monitoring tools and ticketing systems.
- Basic understanding of routing, switching, and optical networking concepts (SONET, DWDM, etc.).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Team-oriented mindset with a commitment to providing excellent customer service.
- Exposure to DWDM systems, especially Ciena 6500.
- Knowledge of AIS systems, Cisco, and Fortinet devices.
- Proficiency in Office 365 and familiarity with Salesforce.
- Any industry certification such as CCNA, JNCIA, or equivalent.
- Experience in a NOC or similar technical support environment.
- Strong desire to learn and advance technical skills.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Flexible and adaptable to evolving team needs and responsibilities.
- Analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving capabilities.
