POSITION SUMMARY :

Regional Director, Health Systems ensures regional strategic account success by executing the strategic direction for Health Systems (including IDN / VA / Key Accounts, local hospitals, and CBOCs), developing / executing Health System strategy and forecast, and removing obstacles preventing health system management success. Develops relationship with top Regional Accounts (revenue or strategic) and ensures alignment with Field Sales Leadership. The Regional Director, Health Systems will lead a team of geographically based Health Systems Access Directors. The Regional Director, Health Systems will lead, coach, develop, and model best practices and advanced methodologies for health system strategic direction.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

The responsibilities of this job include, but are not limited to, the following :

  • Consistently demonstrate RD competencies (Leadership, Coaching, Business), RD MBOs, guiding principles, and all compliance requirements.
  • Maintain the required technical expertise including competitive product knowledge.
  • Successfully complete all required training programs in a timely manner.
  • Assist and / or lead special projects as assigned.
  • Drive accountability to funnel management process and standardize work; implement countermeasures as needed to improve.
  • Partner with internal marketing and other stakeholders to provide market intelligence and customer insights to enable more targeted program development.
  • Provide strategic coaching and guidance to team while pressure testing strategy to identify gaps. Empowers team to create / drive / own account development strategy. Removes obstacles for successful execution of strategy.
  • Drive accountability to Account Plans; reviews Account Plan for quality and timely execution.
  • Provide coaching and direction to the Access Directors for business plan development.
  • Owns strategic account management plan and growth initiatives for the Region. Regularly reviews the business plans of account directors and coaches to gaps.
  • Collaborates with internal partners : finance, channel, contracting, sales, legal, and compliance to achieve targets and create resources.
  • Attract, hire, retain and mentor Health System Access Directors, while partnering with regional leaders to maintain collaboration and consistent hiring practices.
  • Collaborate with Sales Leaders to identify opportunities and conduct pull-through of Regional and National accounts.

  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills; Ability to analyze complicated issues and boil down to the key points, communicate effectively to his / her team, develop action plans, and bring to a successful conclusion.
  • Experience :

  • Thorough understanding and experience working with IDN, key accounts, ACO, integrated healthcare systems, and healthcare system formulary processes.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of healthcare system processes including reimbursement, specialty pharmaceutical channels to include buy and bill and specialty pharmacy.
  • Experience working with REMs, HUB Services and Patient Access teams.
  • Experience interpreting analytical data and turning into team strategy.
  • Ability to maximize profitability and ensure compliance.
  • Established relationships with key IDN / GPO / physician group customers in the Region.
  • Minimum 10 years in of demonstrated experience and proven success in biotech / pharmaceutical industry and Market Access account management.
  • Experience with National PBM and MCO Accounts
  • Experience in corporate-office roles (i.e., Training, Sales Operations, Marketing) or sales leadership preferred.
  • Other Requirements :

  • Proficient in electronically various technologies related to the business including, but not limited Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and TEAMS.
  • Extensive business travel (>
  • 50%) required.

  • Valid driver's license with a safe driving record that meets company requirements.
  • BS / BA degree, MBA degree preferred.
