Qualification/Education:
College degree in Environmental Sciences or related field or equivalent years of experience with core specifics in Environmental, Health, and Safety. Prefer experience in an Industrial Manufacturing Environment (Chemical Manufacturing preferred).
Requirements/Expectations:
· Must have the mentality that safety is #1 Priority.
· Must be organized, have excellent operational understanding of Microsoft Office products.
· Have the ability to work off-hours to meet EHS needs and may be required to travel on a limited basis for training and other safety specific requirements.
· Must be able to meet deadlines, prepare and participate in audits.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Support the EHS Manager in maintaining all environmental Permits (Air, Storm Water, Sewer and Hazardous Materials) and keep up with regulatory requirements for each Permit. Perform data reporting and audit ability to support each Permit.
2. Follow and track the due dates for reports for each permit and renewal of such permits.
3. Perform various weekly, bi-weekly, & monthly Health & Safety, Environmental inspections and annotate results.
4. Manage Site Plant Trash Roll-Offs/Dumpsters and Site Recycling.
5. Handle all of the Hazardous and Non-Hazardous waste shipments, and documentation related to each shipment per 49 CFR (transportation of hazardous materials over public highways).
6. Provide SID/NPDES Water Permit Support, Title V-Air Permit Support, Waste Management Support, ISO 14001/ISO45001 Audit Support
7. Conduct monthly ERT Team Equipment Inventory.
8. Assist EHS Department as it relates to proper wear of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), investigations, data collection to maintain internal and external reporting, EHS document control revisions and LDAR Contractor Management.
9. Adhere to all safety guidelines, rules, and regulations set forth by the company.
10. Follow plant and personal safety programs and safe work practices.
11. Follow all applicable Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Quality and Food Safety Guidelines and all LOG/SOPs set forth by the company.
12. Interface professionally with plant engineers, co-workers, management daily and during shutdowns and special projects.
13. Understand and follow written and verbal instructions and procedures that may be given by management.
14. The ability to obtain the following certifications: RSO (Radiation Safety Officer), CSP (Certified Safety Professional), ASP (Associate Safety Professional), and/or COSS (Certified Occupational Safety Specialist).
15. Attend OSHA 30 hour General Industry Training and OSHA 10 Training.
16. Contribute to and support Site and Corporate Initiatives.
17. Serve as a back up to EHS Manager and Safety Officer.
18. Accept and be responsible for completing additional job duties and/or assignments as designated by the EHS Management Team or others Site Managers.
