Indorama at Fontana, California, is looking to immediately hire an experience dedicated Purchasing Specialist to join our team. We have 4 multiple shifts, AWS (Alternative Work Schedules) 4 days 10 hours.
The position is a Full Time, 8:00am - 4:30pm, Monday to Friday, paying $60K to $62K, depending on experience Reports to Site Director and Procurement Manager.

The purchasing associate to join our procurement team reports to the Site Director and Procurement manager and is responsible for identifying suppliers, researching goods and services, processing purchase orders, and verifying delivered items.
To be successful as a purchasing agent you should be able to critically assess suppliers, products, and services, and negotiate the best possible deals. Ultimately, an outstanding purchasing agent has a keen sense of business and maintains meticulous transaction records

- Selecting the most suitable suppliers in terms of reliability, product quality, and cost-efficiency.
- Monitoring inventory levels and determining purchase needs.
- Compare and review POs against invoices and backup documents to resolve discrepancies.
- Requesting cost proposals and negotiating contracts and prices.
- Preparing and processing purchase orders.
- Maintaining records of all transactions, purchase orders, receipts, and payments.
- Scheduling and verifying purchase deliveries.
- Building and maintaining positive, long-term supplier relations.
- Update inventory and ensure that stock levels are kept at appropriate levels.
- Arrange transport of goods and track orders to ensure timely delivery.
- Assess quality of stock received and escalate any discrepancies to suppliers and management.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- College Degree Required.
- Degree in Business Administration, procurement or a related field preferred.
- 2 years previous experience as a purchasing agent or in a similar position.
- Proficiency in CRM and inventory management software program.
- Experience on SAP ERP system a must.
- Strong experience with MS Excel, Word and proficiency with MS Outlook and Power Point as well as Adobe Acrobat.
- Detail oriented and excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Strong organization and documentation skills.
- Strong research and analytical skills.
