What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Tower Construction position at Industrial Communications West?
Industrial Communications West, LLC is looking for a self-motivated, detail oriented, and patient problem solver to be the Director of Tower Construction, based in Fort Morgan, Colorado.
In this role, you will oversee the direct construction of projects, from conception to completion, including supervising estimating, purchasing, scheduling, and ensuring material shipments. You’ll work with Construction Managers to coordinate tower crews and/or sub-contractors on day-to-day operations of tower overlay, maintenance, and new construction projects, and also ensure a complete close-out package for each project.
- Build relationships and establish a fluid working rapport with department heads, subcontractors, purchasing, suppliers/vendors, engineers, crew supervisors, field technicians, and office staff.
- Resolve concerns of staff and department managers in a professional, timely, and efficient manner.
- Provide guidance and support to crews and staff as needed.
- Construct sites as defined by Engineering and as outlined in blueprint drawings.
- Coordinate construction with Managers and teams concerning ground, generator, electricians, and general maintenance.
- Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs using appropriate verification techniques.
- Ensure that all projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Review job transaction detail reports during construction and on all completed jobs, checking for efficiency and profitability.
- Provide for quality control of tower work, closeouts, photos, and paperwork.
- Travel up to 30% within our construction region.

Qualifications and Skills
- Preferred 7 years’ experience in Construction (Tower Construction strongly preferred)
- Preferred 7 years’ experience managing teams preferred
- Familiarity with industry-standard concepts, best practices, and procedures
- Experience with tower structural analysis and modifications
- Project management experience for tower deployment
- Strong time management, organization, verbal, and written communication skills
- Preferred Education or Certification in Construction Management
- Clean Motor Vehicle Record for the past 5 years, valid driver's license, clean or acceptable criminal background check, and clean substance screening.
