Industrial Contracting & Engineering (IC&E) and Professional Fabricators of Steuben County (ProFab), a direct-hire, multi-disciplined industrial construction services, and metal fabrication company is seeking a Structural Steel Project Manager to help support a variety of projects in our Angola, Indiana fabrication shop. This position is ideal for a proactive professional with a strong technical background in structural steel construction and fabrication, capable of managing projects from the initial design phase through to completion. Responsibilities:
- Oversee the design, planning, and fabrication/erection of structural steel in new construction and existing building projects.
- Provide comprehensive support to the fabrication shop, addressing any operational needs or challenges on the structural steel side.
- Support fabricating schedules to ensure timely production.
- Oversee painting processes to meet quality standards.
- Manage shipping logistics and ensure on-time delivery of fabricated products.
- Work closely with shop foreman and Q.C. with all shop related activities.
- Develop and maintain long-term customer relationships.
- Review project estimates with management team.
- Attend/ Conduct pre-job and required meetings to ensure all project team members understand contract terms and conditions, clauses, schedules, or any unusual requirements of the project.
- Document meetings and ensure all action items are completed. Develop and keep current all project schedules.
- Establishes and executes vendor subcontracts.
- Processes all scope changes to ensure they are processed and incorporated into the current scope of work in a timely manner.
- Assist with material takeoff, estimates, and pricing for changes to work scope.
Requirements:
- 3 years minimum of relevant work experience managing Structural Steel and related construction projects.
- Ability to solve complex, multi-faceted problems using various problem-solving techniques.
- Good written and oral communication skills and polished presentation skills.
- Ability to interpret contract documents, plans, specifications, schematic diagrams, and isometric drawings.
- Proficient at communication, both verbal and written.
- Proficient with AutoCAD, Revit, or TEKLA.
- Proficient with traditional Microsoft Office products; Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Understanding of financial models used in fixed price, cost plus, and unit rate/price contracting.
