What are the responsibilities and job description for the Indirect Lending Specialist position at Industrial Federal Credit Union?
Role: Loan administrator. Originates and processes indirect and consumer loan applications. Serves as a liaison between lending team, members, and dealerships to ensure compliance. Pivots responsibilities between Indirect and Consumer Lending based on department needs.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
• Originates and processes loan and credit card applications and payment extensions including but not limited to: verification of collateral, income, credit, and debt ratio.
• Cross trained to support consumer and mortgage lending.
• Open membership accounts.
• Communicate loan status to the Loan Officer for review and approval.
• Verifies loan amount, rate, and term by reviewing closed loan packets for accuracy, compliance, and completeness. Ensures compliance with federal lending and credit union regulations, organizational policies, and procedures.
• Identifies opportunities to cross-sell products or services to members.
• Acts as liaison between dealers, members, and/or employees; processes, schedules, and assists in preparing approved loans for closing in Member Centers or Dealerships.
• Provides administrative support, compiles data, prepares reports, and completes tracking logs.
• Manage incoming calls to support all areas of lending.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Knowledge & Skills:
Experience: One year to three years of similar or related experience. Education: A high school education or GED is required.
Interpersonal Skills: Effective communication with contacts inside and outside the organization is essential. Fostering relationships with other entities (companies and individuals) is necessary and often requires the ability to influence and sell ideas or services to members or others. The role requires a significant level of emotional intelligence.
Other Skills: General office equipment such as calculators, computers, photocopiers, and scanners. Maintains confidentiality related to credit union operations and work-related information. Proficient in Microsoft Office software. Must have a proven track record of selling and servicing loans. Must have a working knowledge of regulations affecting consumer lending.
Physical Requirements: Frequently stands or sits in a stationary position.
