The Paint Technician serves as a key technical expert, providing one-on-one product analysis, training, and assistance to customers on the features and benefits of various paint products and systems. This role ensures accurate, efficient, and courteous technical support while maintaining strong customer relationships within an assigned territory. By delivering product updates, troubleshooting issues, and offering solutions, the Paint Technician enhances customer loyalty, supports business growth, and generates referrals for the sales team.

Primary Responsibilities
- Technical Support & Training: Provide on-site product demonstrations, technical training, and support to new and existing customers, ensuring proper use and understanding of product lines.
- Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships by offering expert guidance, troubleshooting, and product recommendations to enhance customer satisfaction and retention.
- Product & System Maintenance: Maintain and update mixing systems, color libraries, and product information to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Sales Support & Referrals: Identify business opportunities through customer interactions, referring potential sales leads to the Sales Team.
- Industry Knowledge & Compliance: Stay up to date with certifications, industry advancements, and new technologies to enhance expertise and product knowledge.
Qualifications
A high school diploma and industry certifications from BASF, Akzo Nobel, Axalta, or PPG are required, with 5 years of automotive paint experience preferred. The ideal candidate has strong people skills, reliable transportation, and bilingual abilities (a plus). They must demonstrate professionalism, sound judgment, and adaptability while providing customer support. Strong communication, problem-solving, and attention to detail are essential. Candidates must be insurable for driving, able to lift up to 40 lbs., and work both indoors and outdoors, sometimes with hazardous materials.
