Overview : We are seeking a dynamic and experienced General Manager to lead and enhance our field Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) operations. In this role, you will drive operational excellence, improve client satisfaction, and foster a culture of safety and innovation, while ensuring high-quality service delivery, safety compliance, and profitability.
Essential Functions
Leadership & Management :
- Lead, manage, and mentor a team of field technicians, supervisors, and support staff to achieve operational excellence.
- Develop and implement strategies for improving team performance, productivity, and client satisfaction.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide coaching to ensure high levels of employee engagement and skill development.
Operations & Performance :
Oversee the daily operations of field activities, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to customer specifications.Efficiently allocate and coordinate resources, equipment, and personnel, ensuring optimal performance and high-quality service delivery to clients.Manage the scheduling of field operations, ensuring appropriate allocation of staff to meet workload demands.Review project progress, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions as needed to maintain operational effectiveness.Safety & Compliance :
Promote a safety-first culture by ensuring strict adherence to safety regulations and proactively leading risk assessments, safety training, and compliance initiatives.Maintain compliance with all relevant local, state, and federal regulations related to NDT practices.Ensure proper documentation and reporting of all field activities, inspections, and results in accordance with industry standards and customer requirements.Client Relationship Management :
Foster and maintain strong relationships with key clients, acting as a point of contact for inspection services.Address client inquiries, resolve issues, and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.Work with sales and business development teams to identify opportunities for service expansion and new business.Budget & Financial Management :
Prepare and manage budgets for field operations, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.Monitor financial performance and implement measures to improve profitability, such as optimizing resource utilization and reducing operational inefficiencies.Oversee invoicing, contract negotiations, and other administrative tasks related to financial transactions.Quality Assurance & Continuous Improvement :
Implement quality assurance procedures to ensure that all NDT inspections and services meet or exceed industry standards.Stay current on emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices to continually improve operational efficiency and service offerings.Lead initiatives aimed at enhancing service quality, reducing downtime, and increasing operational efficiency.Qualifications
4-year Bachelor’s degree.Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in the NDT industry, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role overseeing field operations.Strong knowledge of various NDT methods, such as Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Radiographic Testing (RT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), and Dye Penetrant Testing (PT).Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage cross-functional teams.Proven track record of managing budgets, timelines, and client relationships effectively.Proven ability to lead and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while maintaining a focus on delivering high-quality results.Must be willing to travel up to 40% of the time.Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.We Offer
