We are seeking a Key Account Manager to oversee a select group of strategic accounts, ensuring strong customer relationships and seamless coordination across pricing, forecasting, logistics, and quality.
Position Summary:
The Key Account Manager will serve as the primary liaison for assigned key accounts, managing customer needs while driving business growth. This role requires a combination of account management, project coordination, and supply chain oversight. Candidates must have either experience in the fastener industry or comfort in reading blueprints for technical information. Additionally, experience with supply programs such as vendor-managed inventory (VMI), consignment, and inventory forecasting is highly beneficial.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary contact for assigned key accounts, ensuring exceptional customer service and responsiveness.
- Conduct pricing reviews and updates to align with market conditions and customer agreements.
- Monitor and analyze forecasting vs. actual sales to proactively address potential gaps.
- Manage customer projects, ensuring they are delivered on time by coordinating new product launches, quoting, sourcing, and internal alignment.
- Oversee supply programs such as VMI and consignment, ensuring proper inventory levels and alignment with customer demand.
- Work with quality control teams to investigate and resolve issues, including PPAP, FESO, and blueprint revisions.
- Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure account health, department performance, and areas for improvement.
- Support warehouse transfers and logistics coordination for domestic and international shipments.
- Mentor and support team members in account management best practices.
- Organize customer visits, training sessions, and site tours.
- Assist in developing tools for forecasting analysis and inventory planning.
Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience in account management, sales, or supply chain, preferably in a B2B or manufacturing environment.
- Experience in the fastener industry OR comfort in reading blueprints for technical information is required.
- Experience with supply programs such as VMI, consignment, and inventory forecasting is highly beneficial.
- Strong project management skills, ensuring tasks are completed on time and aligned with customer expectations.
- Excellent relationship-building, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with sales, supply chain, and quality teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems (experience with INxSQL is a plus).
