Job Summary
The Production Support Associate will be responsible for providing essential support to the production and manufacturing team to ensure smooth and efficient manufacturing operations. This role includes handling materials, operating a forklift, assisting with equipment setup, performing quality checks, and assisting departments where needed to meet production goals and deadlines. The role may include assisting in fabrication, welding, assembly, paint and powder coating, machining and other areas of secondary operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the setup and operation of production equipment.
- Handle materials, including loading and unloading, to ensure a steady flow of production.
- Conduct routine quality checks to ensure products meet company standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the production and manufacturing area.
- Monitor inventory levels and report shortages to the supervisor.
- Collaborate with team members to help where needed in order to meet production goals and deadlines.
- Follow all safety protocols and company policies to ensure a safe working environment.
- Provide support in troubleshooting and resolving production issues.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the production supervisor.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to operate a forklift
- Ability to recognize different materials and handle accordingly
- Experience with sandblasting, grinding and spot welding
- Follow work instructions and job travelers
- Able to load/unload and move materials
- Basic mechanical skills
- Ability to communicate and follow instructions
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment is preferred
- Forklift certification (or ability to obtain certification upon hire)
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
