What are the responsibilities and job description for the Warehouse Supervisor position at Industrial Steel and Wire?
Perform functions to plan, coordinate, and manage production, material handling, shipping and receiving activities to ensure that product is properly stored and customer orders are processed and shipped in accordance with planned schedules, job specifications, and planned profit objectives. Perform all warehouse and production functions as needed. Report to the VP of Operations.
Under general oversight:

1. Ensure that the warehouse operates at peak efficiency with Customer Satisfaction being the primary goal by managing, organizing, directing, and training warehouse employees and establishing, monitoring, and managing production and operation goals.
2. Manage the operation’s infrastructure, work environment, and warehouse personnel to ensure that product conformity can be achieved under clean, safe, and efficient operating conditions. Maintain warehouse infrastructure
a) Take immediate action to eliminate or isolate unsafe conditions within the warehouse or on the buildings grounds to prevent worker injury. Immediately report unsafe conditions to the VP of Operations.
b) Notify the VP of Operations, immediately, of any accident that causes a worker injury or damage to warehouse equipment or infrastructure, whether it was caused by an ISW employee, outside vendor, or trucking company.
c) Ensure that the warehouse and outside grounds remains clean and well-manicured at all times and encourage a “culture of clean” in the warehouse where employees are held responsible for cleaning up after themselves and keeping their work areas clean and orderly. Ensure that the warehouse floors, stocking shelves, and weighing areas are free of debris and garbage cans are emptied before they become full.
3. Immediately eliminate nonconforming or potential nonconforming product from stocking areas, hold tag and quarantine the product in the hold area to prevent shipment to customers, and report it to the Quality Manager. Take timely action to ensure non-conforming product is disposed properly per procedure and as instructed by the Quality Manager.
4. Ensure that all warehouse personnel are competent, aware, and properly trained to perform their jobs and that their primary goal is customer satisfaction.
5. Ensure that the warehouse conforms to all requirements of our ISO Quality Management system and can easily pass and external or internal ISO audit.
6. Manage the flow and quality of work in the warehouse to maximize efficiency and minimize overtime.
7. Work with the Purchasing Coordinator to ensure that warehouse supply levels are sufficient to ensure there is no disruption in service and all product can be properly identified and stored per ISW procedure.
8. Expedite priority shipments and ensure on-time deliveries.
9. Investigate and correct unusual customer problems or order delays.
10. Develop new and improved procedures or work methods with the VP of Operations.
11. Provide timely answers to warehouse inquiries from other ISW divisions or departments.
12. Ensure that all warehouse personnel are competent, aware, and trained to perform their functions and that training records (e.g. Fork Lift Operator) are maintained and up to date.
13. Perform other warehouse duties as required to properly service customers.
14. Treat everyone with respect and courtesy.
Responsible to supervise 1 to 2 employees engaged in warehouse activities. Train, review work, assist employees, evaluate performance, enforce company rules and ISW Family Core Values and recommend changes in employee status.
