Job Title: Project Manager III
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead capital and turnaround projects, with a particular focus on an upcoming sulfur recovery unit turnaround scheduled for the fall. This role requires a mechanically focused leader who can manage cross-functional teams and drive project success from conception to completion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assemble and lead a full-time project team for effective execution.
- Oversee the development and implementation of the Project Execution Plan.
- Lead the Front-End Loading (FEL) process, including gate reviews and management approvals.
- Develop and execute contracting strategies, including contractor evaluation, bidding, and award processes.
- Manage all aspects of project controls including cost, schedule, procurement, and billing/payables.
- Interview and approve contractor personnel.
- Administer contracts to ensure contractor performance, control costs, and minimize claims or change orders.
- Establish project facilities both on-site and within contractor offices.
- Set and uphold safety expectations and lead the team to meet safety goals.
- Collaborate with plant Operations and Maintenance personnel to ensure alignment and readiness.
- Oversee the development and use of project schedules to drive performance.
- Validate cost estimates and ensure accurate monthly cash flow forecasting.
- Implement effective vendor, fabricator, and specialty contractor management programs.
- Ensure adherence to quality assurance processes and standards.
- Define, gain approval for, and manage project KPIs and performance metrics.
- Lead the creation and implementation of a risk management plan.
- Deliver clear and effective presentations to stakeholders at all levels.
- Manage the timely and efficient closeout of all project activities.
Requirements:
- TWIC Card required.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or higher.
- Minimum 10 years of project management experience in the oil & gas or petrochemical industry.
- Minimum 5 years as the primary Project Manager, accountable for entire project lifecycles.
- Demonstrated experience managing both capital and turnaround projects, specifically in mechanical scopes for sulfur recovery unit turnarounds.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $65.00 - $80.00 per hour
