Summary
The Director of Human Resources Operations and Learning and Development is responsible for developing, leading, and implementing human resources operations and talent development strategies that improve employee performance, productivity, skills, engagement, and operational excellence. In addition, this role will focus on delivering high-quality services to employees while aligning with department goals by utilizing technology, best practices, and data-driven decisions to improve the employee experience and overall performance of the HR department. In addition, this role will manage a team of HR professionals, including the Manager of Compliance and Process Improvement and the Manager of Labor and Employee Relations.
Essential Functions
• Design and implement strategies and processes that enhance HR service delivery, create efficiencies, and improve the employee experience while focusing on compliance, policy, and procedure integrity.
• Leads change management initiatives.
• Develop, review, and approve HR processes and implement new HR policies and procedures.
• Establish quantitative and qualitative metrics, guidelines, and standards for evaluating the company's HR efficiency and effectiveness and identifying opportunities for improvement.
• Develop and oversee strategies to enhance employee experience and culture and ultimately retain talent to reduce turnover.
• Oversees the employee and labor relations functions.
• Create and manage employee engagement surveys and programs that enhance the employee experience.
• Develop an exit interview process that electronically captures the feedback from exiting employees.
• Oversee the development of the assessment process, system, and structure for skill, competency, and proficiency levels across the organization and employee lifecycle.
• Ensures a company's HR operations initiatives run smoothly and contribute to a healthy work environment.
• Lead the management of development programs, talent reviews, succession planning, and performance management.
• Partners with HR leaders and company stakeholders to implement and improve resources and programs that support individual development, leadership development, and HR process education.
• Drives continuous improvement, innovation, accountability, and scalability of development initiatives.
• Manages the talent development programs, including overall responsibility for design, delivery, evaluation, and ongoing relationship management with internal and external stakeholders and partners.
• Proactively evaluate programs to determine gaps, consistency, relevance, and ability to impact business needs and recommend improvements.
• Develop ROI metrics that ensure and allow the business to support and partner in development initiatives.
• Develops and maintains organizational communications for programs, ensuring employees understand programs' talent development strategies, approaches, and benefits.
• Leads the organization's efforts to develop and maintain a training needs analysis.
Skills and Experience
• Minimum 5 years of experience in adult learning in a business environment, including program development and facilitation, is preferred.
• Experiencing translating organization strategies, skills, and skill gaps into learning programs with a focus on creating a positive associate experience and improving the skill level of associates.
• Possess experience in all employment and human resources-related laws, regulations, policies, principles, concepts, and practices, including Title VII, ADA, ADAA, and FMLA.
Education and Qualifications
• A bachelor's degree in human resources, business, organizational development/leadership, organizational psychology, or a related field.
• 10 years of experience in Human Resources or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least 7 years of people leadership experience or working in a role that consistently leads others through influence at all levels.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in employee relations.
