What You Will Do

These rules are posted within each INEOS Styrolution facility. Additionally, incumbents:
- Participate as needed for incident investigations, Management of Change, Process Hazard Analysis/LOPA
- Support integrity management by completing assigned Preventative Maintenance and ensure proper follow through on reliability concerns
- Ensure effective maintenance of rotating and fixed equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, compressors, blowers, gear boxes, valves, pumps, hydraulic and pneumatic tools, and other machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions. Report progress on assigned PM’s.
- During plant outages, coordinate and direct the activities of contractors of a different craft or experience level.
- Troubleshoot sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
- Remove defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools; examining form and texture of parts.
- Repair, rebuild, clean, adjust, and calibrate mechanical components and systems and return them to operations.
- Determine changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
- Implement most effective methods to make repairs to production equipment and support systems to control and minimize downtime. Inform operations of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitor compliance.
- Fabricate repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment. Utilize basic welding and metal cutting skills.
- Conserve maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
- Identify and request parts, supplies, and tooling needed for repairs and to replenish maintenance inventory.
- Maintain and apply technical knowledge as specified through NCCER certification for Industrial Maintenance Mechanic, Millwright and Crane and Rigging, keeping certification current.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
- A minimum of 5 years experience as an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic within the petrochemical industry.
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Ability to obtain and maintain NCCER Certifications for Millwright, Industrial Maintenance Mechanic, and Crane & Rigging Level II is required.
- Journeyman experience is preferred.
- Completion of college level Basic Millwright/Machinist program is preferred.
- NCCER Certification as an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic or Millwright is preferred.
- NCCER Certification as a Boilermaker is preferred.
- NCCO Crane and NCCO Rigger (or NCCER Rigger) is preferred.
- Working knowledge of computers and SAP
- Experience in the petrochemical industry required and should include experience in safe practices such as Lock Out/Tag Out.
- Read and understand instructions of a technical nature reflecting the requirements of the job; this includes interpreting pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical schematics and drawings, manuals, and set-up procedures.
- Troubleshooting and repair of blowers, reciprocating compressors, centrifugal pumps, fans and material handling equipment, positive displacement pumps.
- Experience in the repair and overhaul of large centrifugal compressors and multi-stage steam turbines would be an asset
