Job Description

GENERAL SUMMARY : This position is located in Warren / Youngstown, Oh.

We are looking for highly experienced technicians to join our service team. This role consists of approximately 50% on-site support and 50% in-office and remote support. All candidates must be able to provide friendly customer service using remote management applications, telephone, and email tools as well as provide IT support services with the highest level of integrity while adhering to our Core Values.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities : To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and / or ability required.

Support clients in a Windows Domain Infrastructure

Strong Troubleshooting skills in Windows Desktop

Strong troubleshooting skills in Windows Server Active Directory

Troubleshooting hardware such as servers, desktops, laptops, printers, telephones, and mobile devices

Intermediate to advanced knowledge of WAN and LAN connectivity, routers, switches and firewalls

Remote Support using remote connectivity tools

Implement client infrastructure design and upgrade projects

Initiate preventative maintenance work and / or diagnostics on computers and peripherals

Assist in determination of technology requirements

Work independently with limited supervision and direction

Establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, IT Staff and vendors

Real-Time daily Time Tracking and detailed system documentation in ConnectWise

Self-motivated with the ability to work in a dynamic environment

Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a fast paced, high-pressure environment

Communicate with clients in a positive manner as required, keeping them informed of incident progress and notification of impending changes or agreed-upon outages

Engineer

Reports to : Service Manager

General Summary :

Network Engineers are strong in all the most common and popular networking technologies. In addition to strong technical aptitudes, this person is a powerful communicator. This person should be prompt and / or know the importance of communicating ETA's to clients. This person should be skillful at pre-project / work-briefings with each client on each project. This person should then be able to execute with a high degree of success in integrating and / or solving problems.

Position Responsibilities :

Server Operating Systems

Installation, configuration and troubleshooting

Configure file and print services

Basic administration, including add / remove users and groups, configure file permissions, check event logs, configure and restore from backup

Required : Windows

Troubleshooting and configuration

Configuration of standard POP, SMTP & Exchange clients including Outlook

Installation, configuration, troubleshooting and customization of MS Office Suite applications per customer's preferences

Solid understanding of and ability to install, configure and test workstation hardware including video cards, NICs, sound cards, hard drives, and PDAs

Other Preferred Technical Knowledge

Solid understanding of and ability to configure TCP / IP subnetting and troubleshooting Internet connectivity

Experience with and understanding of routers and firewalls

Understanding of relationship between switches, patch panels and connecting nodes to a network

Understanding of DNS services

Understanding of High Availability / Load Balancing solutions

Other Considerations

DAILY time entry accounting for at least 8 hours in the form of Resolution Notes in Service Tickets

Monthly billing should be at least 75% or more of a typical month of about 170 hours available

Regular and timely completion of Minimum Documentation Standards for each client

On-going self-training to preserve professional viability is a must

Execution and conclusion of projects on-time and / or successful management of client expectations when targets cannot be met

Good communication with Account Managers and Service Manager with regards to events and changes transpiring at client sites

Takes ownership of tasks and follows through to ensure complete resolution

Takes a personal interest in, and responsibility for, quality of work they perform or are associated with

Ability to pay close attention to detail while performing technically detailed tasks

Ability to deal effectively with stressful situations

Ability and willingness to recognize when it is necessary to ask for technical expertise from others without unnecessarily burdening other team members

Ability to provide accurate time estimates for how long a task will take

Understands that the success of individuals is measured by the success of their teams

Ability to quickly learn new technologies through the use of self-study materials and intuition

Enjoys helping people to the extent that no problem is considered mundane, no matter how simple the solution (i.e. Susie can't print)

Enjoys sharing information, supporting others, and working on a team to achieve team goals

General Qualifications

This position requires strong communication, troubleshooting, planning, and execution skills. Preference will be given to candidates with college degrees and / or current vendor certifications. All candidates must have reliable transportation with a driver's license and vehicle insurance.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities :

Fast turnaround of customer requests

Establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, IT Staff and vendors

Work with the Service Manager when escalating service requests that require higher level support

Manage time well and perform multiple tasks

Enter all work, real time, as service tickets into ConnectWise

Work Environment

Physical requirements include the ability to lift / carry up to 35-40 pounds occasionally, visual acuity, speech and hearing, hand and eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to operate a computer and office equipment. Subject to standing, sitting, walking, climbing, crawling, bending, stooping, crouching, kneeling, pushing, pulling, reaching, twisting, balancing, repetitive motion, and squatting to perform the essential functions. Subject to exposure to variations in extreme heat and cold.

Required to participate on the On-Call rotation schedule
