Position Overview:
The Solar Service Department Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of the service department, ensuring efficient installation, maintenance, and repair of solar energy systems. This role will be responsible for managing a team of technicians, driving customer satisfaction, and ensuring all solar projects meet the highest standards of quality and safety. The ideal candidate will be a proactive, solutions-oriented leader with a passion for renewable energy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the service department, ensuring high standards for quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.
- Supervise, train, and mentor a team of service technicians and customer support staff.
- Oversee scheduling and coordination of service calls, installations, and repairs.
- Develop and implement efficient processes to improve the productivity and performance of the service team.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations regarding solar installations and service.
- Manage customer relationships, providing exceptional service and addressing issues promptly.
- Collaborate with the sales, engineering, and operations teams to ensure smooth project execution.
- Monitor department performance metrics and continuously seek areas for improvement.
- Maintain accurate service records and ensure timely documentation of service activities.
- Manage inventory of parts, tools, and equipment for the service team.
- Handle customer complaints or escalations in a professional and timely manner.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience (5 years) in solar energy, electrical, or related field.
- Previous experience in a managerial or supervisory role in a service-oriented industry.
- Experience with Enphase, SolarEdga and Tesla systems.
- In-depth knowledge of solar energy systems, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work under pressure.
- Understanding of local and national building codes and regulations for solar installations.
- Proficient in using service management software and MS Office Suite.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., NABCEP, electrical certifications) a plus.
Preferred Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Renewable Energy, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with project management software and tools.
- Strong customer service orientation and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to foster a positive and productive work environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
