What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lathe Machinist position at Infinity Machine & Engineering?
This position is responsible for the daily setup, operation, and programming of a Haas CNC lathe. This person will also assist other CNC operators with any of their daily duties including area housekeeping, maintenance work, and material staging.
Key Responsibilities:
- Setup/program/operate Haas CNC lathe.
- Identify and suggest process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
- Safely operate hand tools, power tools, cutting equipment, and forklifts (certification provided) Receipt of raw materials.
- Make recommendations to engineering on time/cost savings initiatives with respect to machined components.
- Ability to interpret prints and program parts from provided information.
- Ability to read and use measuring tools including tape measure, caliper, micrometers, etc.
- Maintain a clean and organized area.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and cutting equipment safely.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings accurately.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
- CNC Technician degree or in lieu of degree; applicable work experience as a machinist
- Problem-solving skills
- Mechanical and Technical Skills
- An understanding of G/M Codes and Haas VPS would be a key asset.
