Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent knowledge base
Working knowledge of a variety of patient scheduling concepts, practices, and procedures
Working knowledge of admitting and healthcare registration procedures
Ability to successfully interact, communicate and coordinate with applicable varied stakeholders, including patients, families, general public, staff, peers, leadership, and physicians
Demonstrated leadership Skills
Desired Qualifications:
Knowledge of diagnostic procedures
Considerable knowledge of patient access principles in a similar clinical environment
Considerable knowledge of health insurance coverage, benefits, and eligibility, and ability to verify and interpret same
Responsibilities
Manages the operations of the Patient Scheduling function in order to provide services which meet IHS' standards of quality, efficiency and desired outcomes. Monitors the daily activities of the assigned area to provide the timely and orderly scheduling and/or placement of all patients according to established IHS Policies and Procedures. Meets regularly with Director to report findings and develop plans for improvement. Maintains responsibility for reward and recognition programs, patient scheduling related reporting, training and coaching, and internal marketing of patient scheduling goals.
