Systems Analyst (On-Site Tallahassee, FL)

Position Summary:

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE), Information Technology Services (ITS), Business Systems Engineering (BSE) Bureau is seeking a Systems Analyst to support and enhance the Automated Training Management System (ATMS) and other FDLE systems. The role is within the Criminal Justice Professionalism section, and will involve full life-cycle software development, maintenance, and support efforts.

This role will include software analysis, design, development, testing, integration, and documentation within a complex enterprise environment using Java/J2EE, JBoss, SQL Server, and related technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide software support and development for ATMS and other FDLE systems

• Analyze business requirements and create functional and technical documentation

• Perform advanced programming in Java/J2EE, JBoss, and SQL Server

• Design, develop, and troubleshoot system components and configurations

• Conduct research on emerging technologies and propose system enhancements

• Ensure compliance with ADA web application standards

• Prepare test cases, execute performance testing, and document results

• Communicate effectively with stakeholders, technical staff, and leadership

• Support procurement documentation, proposal evaluations, and contract negotiations

• Submit weekly status reports to the assigned FDLE supervisor or project manager

Required Experience & Skills:

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Systems Analyst on enterprise-level projects

• Expertise in:

  • J2EE / Java 8.0 or higher

  • JBoss EAP 7.0

  • Java Frameworks (JSF, PrimeFaces)

  • MS SQL Server 2016 / Oracle 19c

  • Stored procedures, triggers, views (SQL)

  • REST APIs & Web Services

  • HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, XML, JSON

  • ADA-compliant web application development

• Strong SDLC knowledge and troubleshooting skills

• Excellent oral and written communication skills

• Ability to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to spec

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master s Degree in Computer Science or related field

• Experience with:

  • Eclipse IDE

  • Jasper Reports

  • Spring Boot, Angular

  • Alfresco, JIRA

  • MS Project and MS Visio

  • Unix/Linux basic scripting

  • NEIM standards
